Duties

What does the Site Support Worker role entail:

Your day will consist of …

  • Maintaining grounds by mowing lawns, clearing leaves, pressure washing hard surfaced walkways & roads and gritting as necessary
  • Inspecting, fixing and maintaining equipment and machinery as agreed with your supervisor
  • Completing scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and advising on replacement of equipment when required
  • Painting and decorating or conducting basic repairs to fittings as required
  • Where required working with the housekeeper ensuring all rooms are ready for use by customers
  • To have a flexible approach and be willing to carry out further functions and roles as required by the management team
  • Manage and undertake planned and reactive site duties to support all Estate maintenance needs operating within our health and safety policy and procedures
  • Support colleagues to undertake specific projects or tasks as required

Join our team in delivering inspiring outdoor learning programmes.

We are looking for an experienced outdoor educator with a range of National Governing Body (NGB) assessed awards. If you have at least 3 years’ experience with a minimum of two NGB qualifications held for 2 years or longer, with the potential to progress further, we welcome hearing from you. We would particularly welcome qualified dinghy sailors. In support of the management team, we require a high-quality outdoor practitioner who can assist with the coaching and assessing of a range of activities at Lakeside, which require training and evaluation via internal signing off processes.

We will provide the opportunities and experience to continue your professional development, with individual personal progression plans, a specific experienced mentor, along with funded training and assessment opportunities to further enhance qualifications. The role.

  • Providing inspirational, safe, high-quality instruction and outdoor learning
  • Course directing schools’ programmes
  • Joining the Duty Team to ensure safe and secure residential stays
  • Take an increasing lead on assisting with training and assessing of instructor colleagues
  • Doing all the many other small jobs which make our outdoor education courses so successful

As a Housing Support Worker what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of…

  • To complete sign-ups with service users commencing the service, including full induction and application for Housing Benefit.
  • Support service users to effectively manage their rent accounts, ensuring that housing benefit entitlement is secured.
  • Be responsible for conducting weekly accommodation checks with service users and reporting and managing repairs to the accommodation.
  • Support service users to develop understanding of their rights and responsibilities in a Tenancy and develop skills to effectively manage their accommodation.
  • Monitor and update application process to ensure that applicants and service users are informed about the service and their responsibilities for the accommodation.
  • Ensure that House Rules are maintained and in the event of serious anti-social behaviour the appropriate agencies are contacted.

  • You have a good standard of education to G.C.S.E level or equivalent, with grade C or above – or equivalent in Mathematics and English.

Duties

As a Housekeeper what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of…

  • Work as part of the house team under the direction of the Head Housekeeper/Operations Services Manager
  • Carry out general cleaning duties, preparation and changeover of client accommodation
  • Clean facilities, public areas and meeting rooms as required, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout
  • Report any damage to soft furnishings, paint work etc. to Maintenance/Operations Services Manager
  • Assist in cleaning and preparation of staff accommodation
  • Report any equipment replacement requirement i.e. light bulbs etc. to Maintenance Team
  • To assist with general maintenance of public and staff areas, with regard to soft furnishings etc.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements of the job and the Centre as indicated by the Centre Policies and Procedures. Read and accept all risk assessments of equipment

This job is for you, if…

  • You have previous cleaning experience in a domestic or workplace setting.
  • You have a good standard of education to G.C.S.E level or equivalent, with grade C or above – or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • You have good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You have great attention to detail and take pride in delivering a quality cleaning service.
  • You are a confident team worker who can work on their own initiative or work as part of a team.
  • You can work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.

Centre Supervisor - YMCA Lytham

Duties

As a Centre Supervisor what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of…

  • Maintain a high profile `shop floor` presence and a high level of interaction with staff and customers.
  • To assist on Reception as required and/or carry out duties of other members of staff as necessary, e.g. cover for breaks, holiday, sickness etc.
  • To ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and Fylde Coast YMCA’s Health and Safety procedures.
  • To be responsible at all times for security of the building and its contents.
  • To identify and report maintenance requirements for equipment or premises. To liaise with the appropriate contractors or staff member and to initiate repairs where necessary.
  • To ensure the prompt preparation of all activity areas including the safe setting up, dismantling and storage of the equipment.

  • You have experience working within a leisure facility/sector.
  • You have five G.C.S.E (grade C or above – or equivalent) including Mathematics and English

Housing Support Worker - East Lancs

Duties

Working from home position – predominantly working across East Lancs and various other locations when required.

As a Support Worker your day will consist of:

  • To conduct initial interviews and assessments of applicants to the scheme.
  • To conduct comprehensive Risk Assessments and Risk Management Plans with applicants and service users.
  • To engage and empower service users to complete initial self-assessment of needs, including barriers and aspirations, which will form the basis of their individual support plans.
  • To engage service users to attend support sessions to develop skills in individual areas as defined within self-assessment of needs and support plans.
  • Support service users to engage in formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Empower service users to engage in services and within their community.

This job is for you, if…

  • You have experience working within a Supported Housing Setting (desirable but not essential)
  • You have a good standard of education to G.C.S.E level or equivalent, with grade C or above – or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Fully I.T literate in all Microsoft Packages
  • You have good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You have a calm personable nature and find appropriate resolutions when handling conflict or difficult issues.
  • You are a resilient and confident team worker who can work on their own initiative or work as part of a team.
  • You can work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • You have a full drivers licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
